Where did June go?!

I have not blogged in a MONTH?! I cannnn believe it! Ya'll, the last month has flown by and been full of funnn! Let's see...
Cody and I celebrated 7 years of painful, I mean blissful {haha} marriage! For real, as cheesy as it sounds, I don't know how it's possible to love someone more and more every single day. He is more than I deserve and I am so thankful for the man he is today. "maybe God just kinda likes Cowboys & Angels" ...
I suppose I must mention that I turned 29 on the 12th {true and sad story} blah. And for those of you reading, I will not be celebrating anymore birthdays. :)
Mr. Aaron did get me not one, but TWO rocking chairs. He somehow worked it out in his favor that one would be an anniversary gift and the other a birthday gift. How nice ~ boo-NO! Just kidding, they're perfect and exactly what I asked for.
Don't forget about that crazy father-in-law of mine... he came out and helped build a new back porch for these fancy rockers! I love rocking in the evenings with a glass of wine. Sighhhh. Ya'll feel free to join me, anytime! We have a little extra room out in the bunk house, aka: office, now. Some of you folks think we live in Oklahoma or something.
SOOO I put my love for anal organization, I mean party planning (dang!) to use and threw a small shin dig for Cody's THIRTY'TH! Gah - he really is that old. It was a success if I do say so myself! That will have to be a post by itself tho.
Oh yes! We just got back from a family vacation to PCB, Florida. So.Much.Fun. My chillens were definitly beach bums! Again, have to save it for another day.
I just didn't want ya'll to think I was flakin' out on this bloggin bloggity blog. Until tomorrow, or maybe the day after...

my Pa

I've been absent lately...
The last few days have seemed like 3 weeks...
I went to see my Pa Friday before last and that next Tuesday he went to heaven. I was so proud to watch Cutter shake his hand when we left the nursing home.
We all knew it was coming, he had been sick for a long time. But that somehow didn't make it any easier. Knowing. This cowboy who raised my Daddy; {the man whom I love & adore like every little girl does her daddy}. My Pa ranked right up there on the daddy scale.
He was a cowboy in the old fashioned sort of way: He rolled his own Prince Albert cigarettes, wore pearl snap button up shirts, a dusty crinkled cowboy hat, and just one cuff rolled up at the bottom of his wranglers. Don't forget the eye patch, yes, like a pirate. :)
I remember Pa ALWAYS had a new animal from the sale barn, usually a horse! That's what he did - swap, trade, buy, sell. But not just animals... anything! And my sister & I never left his house empty handed. It was usually money, whether it was just one dollar or twenty.
We all have something to remember and cherish of him forever. Pa gave Avery & Cutter a bag full of half dollar coins about a year ago, which I'm sure they will try to spend on nonsense like lip gloss or candy. Cody bought an old pistol from him years ago that I think we are going to get back in working order. Can you paint those things? How cute would that be?! ha, I can hear him laughing at things I'd say, that really weren't funny, but he agreed anyway.
Then there's his saddle. I can't begin to tell yALL how special that thing is to me. It's displayed on my fancy saddle rack in the kitchen {that my sweet husband made for me}. YaLL who've been out, you know the one.
I swore I wouldn't get all emotional with this blog thing, but if there's anything I want my babies to remember when or if they look back and read it... this cowboy right here is definitely one to remember.
I miss him like crazy.

Mothers Day @ Church

Is there like an emotional switch that goes off or maybe on when you get to the age of 28? I long for the days of being young and naive... Not really, well, maybe a little.

An 11 year old little girl sang this song this morning at church. It humbled me in so many ways. She sang it so beautifully I cried. How brave is she to get up in front of a whole congregation and sing?! I couldn't believe it. She stopped twice in the first verse and had to start over..but she didn't quit, she kept on going. I know her mAmA was so proud!
I am blessed beyond measure and I am thankful every single day. oK Ok, I hade to use the 'B' word just once!!

I Hope this song speaks to yaLL like it did me.
ohhHH yes, Cody, thanks for the 2 hour nap today aaAaand my cheesecake at lunch! ;)

And Happy Mothers Day to all you cRAzY mAmAs out there! I love you Marm!

BiGG mo-ChiNE

Betcha didn't know hay cutting was in the job description of a stay at home mAmA! Well. Me neither! It only took 8 hours to do 120 acres. Whew!
Cody must have been really desperate to let ME run this big ol' thing! Or maybe since it was our hay it didn't matter if I cut out my own design, ha! After my 5 minute schoolin' the night before, I was on my own the next day. YIKES!

I was so terrified of messing up, crashing or running over something (and I did, sKuNK is all I'm gonna say)... you name it! I couldn't have been more intimidated: with all it's fancy gadgets, blades spinning a million mph, NO BRAKES! that's right, only neutral. WTH!? The steering is like a zero turn mower (loosy goosy) so just the slightest turn of the wheel and you can be turned around in about 2 seconds!

Don't forget about my sidekicks there. Cutter & Avery love to ride the tractor. Somehow I don't think I was quite as fun as Daddy, LOL! No radio, no talking, no phone! Completely boring. womp womp. I had to concentrate tho! Geez. Obviously it was so much fun they couldn't hold their eyes open!

Yesss, it's true Miss Queen of Toms, you're seeing correctly. Took this picture just for you. Don't worry, I was not in motion!
As much as I did not want to do this, I could not tell Cody no. DUh! I'm sure I rolled my eyes or even used my best irritated tone with him when he said, "come out here so I can show you how to run the cutter". {oOoPS} but for real, it was not tooooo hard. And now, I'm so proud of myself. I keep thinking maybe I should have done something wrong, that way he doesn't have me baling next! :)

dress up with mAmA

"Playing dress up begins at age 5 and never truly ends." Kate Spade

I wanted to go ahead and blog about the pictures that Tara Swain of Tara Swain Photography took of Avery and I, while it's still fresh on my mind. {snIFf SnIff}
Seriously cannot rave enough about Tara! If you haven't already - YaLL check her out!! Definitly worth the wait and price$! I contacted Tara back in OcTObeR about her photographing my bright idea (if I say so myself, ha!) of Avery and I playing dress up and in make up, it could not get here fast enough!!

Tara did a perfect job capturing a moment in time that I will cherish forever. I know that she worked hard and put in many hours of editing, I am so grateful!!
Our lil' Weasle is growing up so fast... I'm still searching for the pause button in life.

A couple of my favorites are of Avery reeealy giggling! That child ALWAYS has her mouth open! LOL Ya'll, I'm not kidding. She talks and talks and talks and talks some more! Then there is her singing! Don't think she doesn't know every song on the radio, and if she doesn't she'll make up her own words. She has recently picked up the bobble head and it drives me cArazy! Such a sassy, bossy girl. And observant. Holy moly, I've never seen a kid take in and remember so many things around them like she can. She can tell you what color the mail box was that you passed 4 turns ago back by the field with a tiger striped cow. :)

We love her so much. She'll tell you she loves her Daddy more than her Mama, but it's ok. I keep telling her that I'm the one that washes her clothes, cooks her food, and scrubs her dirty rear... but she don't care. :)
I can't wait to show off the album I made of our pictures. She will surely enjoy it for years to come.

We're moving where?!

To get a better understanding of this punchy life I've come to love, let's go back in time... oh say 2 years! Ha, no not 50 or even 10. Our humble abode was not handed down from generations of our families hard work, sweat, and tears, BUT that's exactly what we'd like to get started. That's not to say our family didn't help out a TON! One.Step.At.A.Time. I'd never even heard of Roxton when Cody started looking for land here. We both thought we grew up living the country life {animals of all kinds, big trucks, tractors, field parties} but this was a new country and I was definitely intimidated. So it's 2010: me working for Wylie ISD, Cody doing... we'll just call him a 'jack of all trades'! Avery loving her temporary home in a travel trailer at Bop & Nana's, oh yes, and baby #2 on thA way. 2010 brought on MANY challenges that don't deserve the time it would take me to type, so let's just say lessons learned! Moving from our comfort zone at a difficult time in our lives was certainly a blessing in disguise!
THIS my friends is Circle A back in 2010. It's just one big friggin ray of sunshine ain't it?! :) It is a dreary day anyway, but can't you just see the potential? Tell this to a 6 month pregnant woman with raging out of control hormones, plus a nearly 4 year old on her hip. Let's move our family here to milk cows, have billy goats in our front yard...and by the way, we might have to bring our newborn home to live in a travel trailer for a bit while we remodel. Huh? Ok Ok, could be worse, right?

Cody saw the potential that's for sure. He's the biggest dreamer I know and isn't afraid of a thing (except me, hehe), I'd follow him anywhere. How in the heehaw are we gonna turn this place around, then take care of it plus ourselves, AND pay for 306 acres?! Yikes!
Here we are 2 years later... the place is beautiful and taken care of. My baby didn't have to be brought home to live in a travel trailer, Thank you Lord! The chitlens love it and we love raising them here. It's not been gravy, times are tough, but we get through.
Nope, you're not getting an after picture. :) You'll have to come see for yourself. Let's not kid ourselves, it is far from our dream home. And I mean far! LOL But it's cozy, clean, keeps us warm and most of all... I'm proud to call it hOMe.
Larry Aaron, if you ever read this, I am forever grateful for ALL of the blood, sweat, and tears you put into making this place what it is today. My FIL is the best!!
BYE. YaLL.

I'm here. YaLL!

A few friends and my Marm recently suggested I start a blog, had never really thought about it, but I'll give it a go! What a great way for my bebes to one day read about how perfect our 'leave it to beaver' life really was...Ummm NOT! Or maybe they'll look back and find out how crazy their mAmA & dAddY really was and wonder why in the wORlD someone didn't save them!
So it begins ~ {country life on Circle A Ranch} and then some!

First things first: Cody, Lauren, Avery, & Cutter --->Yep, that's us!

My baby daddy is our hero. He's so selfless, sometimes it seems too good to be true.
{piNcH mE plEAsE} This hard working cowboy provides for us in every way. Love him with all my heart. OoH! Did I mention he makes me laugh? ALL the time, even when I don't want to * and it makes me so mad! *

Now this cRaZy cowgirl is ... well, crazy! At the ripe age of 5, Avery keeps us on our toes! Her 'if I can't wear my boots, I ain't goin attitude' is contagious! My baby girl is full of spunk and is so smart just like her dAddY. Speakin of, her dAdDy can do absolutely NO wrong. {pUHleasE!} She is a tom boy, pRinCeSS, country girl, & sAssY BosS all in one.

How handsome is this cowboy? Cutter is definitely a mAmA's boy...and I love it! He gives the best suga, high fives, and {I can't deny it} dirty looks. A whoppin' 21 months and his looks could kill. HA! Big sister is the best play mate and with the slightest whimper has her jumping up! Cody and I joke that ranching/farming was bred in his genes because his favorite toy is a tractor ~ gO fIGurE!

I'm excited about this blogging venture... I apologize in advance for {TMI}, misspellings, grammar, rambling, being super excited!!, pRoUD, what.ever! so yaLL get enthused - quick like!
